I have always loved computers. Coming from a poor background I had little access to formal computer classes, though I did not let that stop me. I spent many hours with books on computer hardware and coding teaching myself all that I could on the topic.
Recently I have had the opportunity, through RESA III SPOKES in Kanawha County, to continue my informal study of information technologies. Thanks to the help and guidance of the teachers at RESA III SPOKES I have been able to gain the understanding I needed to achieve a number of certifications in the areas of graphic/web design and networking administration and security.
The certificates I received From Microsoft and Adobe, via Certiport, went a long way in preparing me for continuing my education formally at BridgeValley Community and Technical College, which I started in the fall of 2015. With the opportunities I received at RESA III SPOKES and the education from BVCTC I will be highly qualified to enter the workforce as a software developer or a web design specialist.
